I finally relented and got rid of the terrible awful stock clear taillights on the scion.

Looks infinitely better than it did.

I agree.

I just sprayed my stock ones with VHT Nite Shades red. Ironic - I remember when all the “import racers” used that stuff to tint their lights funny colors. Now I’m using it to make mine a normal color.

Yeah I hadn’t yet seen them in person on a blue car, looks perfect. Kinda sad how I had to go aftermarket for a cleaner more oem looking light

Nice! I have the clear Tom’s on mine, made the back end look a world better. After clear sidemarkers and a sharkfin, these were my third mod after owning the car about three months, haha.

I kept wanting them but then it turned in to “I’d really like those toms, but bushings” I’d really like those toms, but shocks” etc..

Finally got to fuck it and bought a set off a buddy from the 86 forum.

mine was free because a guy bought them and then found out they are US spec (red turn signals) which is not technically road legal and at one point the turn signal got stuck on so gave up with them and offered free to collection, so now they are on my car :)

Red TOMs are the only tails I’d put on my car, but still can’t bring myself to spend that much on taillights. haha

Maybe one day.

I’ve seen a few red cars with red TOMs, most seem to go for the clears, and I really like it.

Me either, picked them up from a buddy who was selling all his mods. Would I pay $500? Probably not, but I had no issue paying $300.

Yeah, if I found a used set for $250-300 I’d be pretty tempted. Maybe next year.
